Multilayer tubes are an evolution of cross-linked polyethylene tubes. They are composed of two outer and inner layers of polyethylene (PEX or PERT) and an intermediate layer of aluminum.
Due to their composition, multilayer tubes combine the properties of plastic materials (high chemical resistance and insensitivity to corrosion) with the properties of metallic materials (especially their rigidity and character when it comes to suspending the diffusion of oxygen.
